Strabismus (Crossed or Turned Eye)

Not to be confused with Amblyopia (LAZY EYE)

Strabismus is a binocular vision disorder which is characterized by the failure of the two eyes to maintain appropriate alignment with each other. One eye maintains fixation while the other eye turns either inward (cross eyed), or outward (wall eyed). This can cause double vision and may also lead to amblyopia (lazy eye). Treatments include the use of prisms to decrease any double vision, vision therapy, surgery, and Botox therapy.
